"Tut tut...looks like rain" said Pooh Bear
“The atmospheric conditions have been very unfavourable lately,” said Owl.
“The what?”
“It has been raining,” explained Owl.
“Yes,” said Christopher Robin. “It has.”
“The flood-level has reached an unprecedented height.”
“The who?”
“There’s a lot of water about,” explained Owl.

And that my friends is our weather the past few days in a nutshell...And we love it!
Our guests would beg to differ.
We had 3 weddings on the property this past week, all had planned an outside affair.
However, once friends and family had arrived from all over the world to Gabriel's,
the sun didn't seem so important anymore.
All ceremonies took place indoors and everything was perfect!

Their wedding ceremony was held at PAAM, The Provincetown Art Association & Museum.

Sidebar: Every once in a while you come across a very special person that deserves to be singled out. Olga Perez-Buffett, the brides mother is one of those people. Olga was one of the "Operation Peter Pan", refugee children from Cuba. This was taken from the
Operation Peter Pan site:
THE CUBAN CHILDREN'S EXODUS
More than fourteen thousand Cuban youths arrived alone in the United States. What is now known as "Operation Peter Pan" was the largest recorded exodus of unaccompanied minors in the Western Hemisphere. Castro stated the parents would follow after the children. When it came time for the parents to come to America, Castro stopped the operation and told America to deal with 14,000 orphans. The children from the Cuban Refugee Children's Program were placed in temporary shelters in Miami, and relocated in 30 States. Many children of the Unaccompanied Cuban Children's Program, are unaware that they are part of history in the making. Today, we are trying to locate all the children that came alone and were part of this historical exodus.

At the Great Room table, Olga shared her story last Sunday morning for over an hour.
Olga was 12 when she arrived via boat from Cuba to Miami. She was placed in a boarding school in Texas with no knowledge of her family or if she would ever see them again. She continued her education and put herself through college. Times were very difficult and she struggled while balancing work, school and putting food on her table.
Olga told us that through everything, she always felt her mother was sending her strength and the courage to never give up. Through tears she continued to explain to our table how important family is. "No matter what, you are always family, cherish them...for in an instant they can be taken away from you."
Olga raised a remarkable daughter, Germaine, who is now a lawyer with Weil, Gotshal & Manges, one of the top law firms in the country.
Her success was measured in many ways. Not only in her daughter Germaine's accomplishments. But also in the fact that Olga embraced and blessed the union of her daughter and her daughter's choice of Courtney as her bride. We were blessed to have this beautiful soul at our table.
We thank the Cahill's, the Perez-Buffett, and their extended families for spending this amazing time with us.
