Gabriel's Provincetown a year in review 2009

A Year in Review
the Caribbean with our nephews

Where to begin!
It was a blessed year as all years are or as they should be
My wife and family have become my focus and life
Many things in my life took years to happen and
I wouldn't give anything to have them any different
Not anything
I happen to love every minute of my life...
well... now I do.
And I do not take one minute for granted.

While the guesthouse is plastered all over our website,
it's nice to know who is behind the scenes!

So, who are these innkeepers?
Well, here is a peek

My home life is filled with laughter, adventure,
magic, traveling, wonderful guests and lots of raw food... yes, I said raw food.
Elizabeth has been on a raw food diet since the summer
and as I have suggested she is eating dirt, she suggests it's all delicious and fabulous.
She has lost 147 pounds ( as of today) so who am I to mock!

Documenting everything
Here is a trip down the raw food journey

She juices this fabulous array of fruit and veggies
Plus a million different combinations

And drinks the results and loves it
(btw, that is beet that makes that lovely red color)

She also uses a dehydrator to make things crispy.
Raw sprouts and dirt, okay okay, not dirt.
She has this down to a science, truly a science!
We have traveled the country for "the ultimate" raw food stores
In a short time we will be on our way to Turks and Caicos, Elizabeth has called the grocery store among any other food providers on the island to find out if they can provide her with her Godess of raw! I joke not
We have grown our own wheat grass so she can "juice" that too!
So, if anyone is in the need for anything raw, odds are we have it in our kitchen
next to the periodical chart and litmus strips!

Below is an example of her entire raw sandwich
Can you believe that is all raw!

Yes, we have movies of making raw food too!

Oh, she finds people to juice for her too!

Wait, there is more...
Elizabeth feeds the dogs the same way!

I think we should juice this raw food! :-)

2009 brought the death of our dear Father, Aunt and Uncle
and the births of a great niece and nephew.

Welcome to the world Clemens and Filip Cristoff

In honor, with much love

Gabriel's turned 30!!
I'm very proud of these beautiful buildings
and pray they stand together... as one.... for many lifetimes to come.
All 4 are connected by very powerful energy and each one needs the other

I do believe she will always be my true love

We were proud to host the Provincetown International Film Festival
and will be again next year as well. Join us in June for a packed week of amazing films!

I have dove back into the world of photography, it's been a long time and it feels good to be back. I have such beautiful subjects in front of me with the
Guesthouse and my family and I am back in full force.

Strange not to be in a dark room but digital is a fascinating world.

We are delighted to take our puppies, Mr. Pippin & Miss Potter
to partake in a wonderful reading program at the elementary school.

Fun in the kitchen with Christie, Elizabeth's niece
I have grown so fond of this beautiful soul

Christie visited Christina Davidson in California!
Christina bought Gabriel's with me in 1979
She turned 80 this year and she is
without a doubt my idol in life!

Summer of 09
Elizabeth's garden heirloom tomatoes

South Hampton, NY
Elizabeth A's families reunion home, which took place last September
This reunion was 34 years in the making, what a hoot!

A very special Christmas gift
The back says
"Circa 1979"

You think it would be easy to take a simple Christmas picture
Think again :-)

The Polar Plunge Christmas 2009

Last winter as well as this winter we are spending quality time with my mother in NY. We have adventures every day with Scrabble, trips to NYC and walks along the beach. Tonight we are going to go out for Sushi which is always an adventure with mother!
Saturday we were delighted to have amazing seats to see
Angela Landsbury & Catherine Zeta Jones in A Little Night Music

Mother, looking thrilled I am photographing her!

Walk in Central Park before the show

We have arrived!

Dinner after the theatre at Daniel
Elizabeth A's Aunt Barbara and niece Christie also joined us!

Renovations in 102...
The girl has had a wonderful facelift
Every floor is now beautiful hardwood!

Now that is a sauna!
!

And voila, 104 was not far behind!
Agatha, Katharine and Virginia have also received a facelift!
And you will be greeted with hardwood in this building as well.

One of my dearest friends, Michael
A blog would not be complete without our Michael

Okay, now that I have said that about Michael, Elizabeth A
must have her "new best friend" included as well.
Here is her "casual, non cooking" shot of Ina Garten

We have entered the zone of Wii.
Christopher already has one and we needed one too!
We connect via wifi and now can play with
our nieces and nephews in New York!
It is very entertaining and amusing to watch us play
and we have only broken one lamp while doing it!

No pictures of that to follow :-)

Facebook

Yes, we are on Facebook ...
Yes, we have to stop everything we are doing at all times to pose, snap and update.
My 92 year old mother is on Facebook!!
I can't let her outdo me!

Actually we have 2 facebooks , one for the guesthouse, 238749237 friends and growing and our family facebook. The family one is insane, I never knew I needed to know when my sister was brushing her teeth and what Elizabeth A's
sister was buying at the market each day, with pictures!
I realize I do need to know and I love it ,
It's all about family :-)

Now, I have taken the liberty to snap a few shots of our Facebook Family Farm for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy and yes, we are quite proud
Please note our multi-level terraced effect as this is not easy to do!!

Sweet Harvester

December farm shot
burrrr it's cold on the farm!

Family fun!
Hamptons with the Wickham family nieces and E's Aunt Jean
Of course what is a party without the Wii Beatles Rock Band,
which Elizabeth gathered and insisted all family members take part in!
I laughed until my sides hurt!
Well, they tried!

Christmas 2009
Warning: Press play only if you like family slide shows!

I would like to say 2009 was the year I realized the only word that truly means anything...
Family
I love both sides of my family so very much and it doesn't matter what happens in life,
my family will always be there for me

Thank you to my wife for opening this chapter of my life

And that about wraps up 2009!
