Winter Fun 2009

Winter, my favorite of all seasons. By all accounts I should live in Antarctica!

We have had a magical winter this year. For most of January, the Bas Relief Park, looked like an ice skating rink! Shankpainter pond froze solid as did the ponds in Truro. It looked like a Norman Rockwell painting exploded on the ice with all the skaters

The skaters below would be our niece Britton and great niece Lucy!

Provincetown is truly breaktaking in the winter!

Winter moments for us...
Over 15 winter weddings at Gabriel's..burrrr

We worked all day to create the most magnificent snowman
By George , I think we did it!

Here is our spotlight of the month...
Yes, you knew it was coming!

We happen to think the world of the staff at Sotheby’s in Provincetown
Not only do we call them friends, but we send our friends to them!
Atlantic Bay Sotheby's

We are not just saying this so we will be invited to the next Ben & Jerry’s ice cream social
(although we do have our spoons ready!)...I am saying this for we greatly respect their commitment to the Real Estate market and to Provincetown.. As far as wrapping their arms around the newest marketing strategy's, we give them a standing ovation. They were one of the first on Cape Cod to start a video blog of their Real Estate. They truly work as a team and if you find you are blessed to be able to invest in this buyers market, give them a call. Of course if you need a place to stay while looking at properties in Provincetown, hey, give US a call!

They are on YouTube as well!

Wine Tasting at Wolffer Vineyards in East Hampton

A new friend Sam the Sting Ray
We actually adopted him and have an amazing tank in the Great Room.
We have to thank Michael our contractor
for figuring out the entire tank system
If you ever come to Gabriel's be sure to ask to see Sam!

While my winter updates are titillating and have you on the edge of your seat...
Christopher claims his news tops ours..
Christopher received a special VIP invite to the 2009 Oscar's

His story
The process to have one's son attend the Oscar's should also give him a free pass to be in the FBI One has to go through weeks of government clearance!
Interesting sidebar note: One did not have to go through anything like this to attend the Presidential Inauguration...very interesting world we live in, isn't it?

Christopher at the lawyers before court
The judge in Massachusetts had to grant him security clearance to attend the Oscar's.
Mind you
We had to be cleared as well
Oye, what an ordeal this was
I could not make this stuff up, folks!

He is off to LA

The following are Christopher's own pictures
...his own experience
As you will notice the gals loved our little photographer...
All the weeks of security checks, photo id's, plane tickets, government clearance, court appearances...
It was all worth it...every second.

The Day

Christopher, totally impromptu, entertained the red carpet onlookers.
Yes, on the red carpet he did an entire monologue
of his own comedy for the people in the bleachers.

He was accompanied by our dear Christina Davidson,
who bought Gabriel's with Elizabeth Gabriel 30 years ago!

And so it began...

My son called and said, I think I see your Mickey Rooney...
What do you mean you think??
Well, there are many heads in the way...he said
Of course I said what any mother would have
Well, stand on a chair!!
Yes, it was my Mickey

We will put 2 pictures of Mickey, for I adore him

The chair idea proved to be a great asset as the evening went on...

Christopher's new friend Diane Lane

One more of my 238232 phone calls that evening was..
"Mommy, you know Angelina, well...
we just had such a nice chat, Brad is so nice too...and she let me take my own picture of her..."

Apparently Angelina and Christopher hit it off.
Elizabeth Gabriel told him if his new friend wanted to come over for dinner...
it would be okay

Christopher's ABC News pals interviewing Amy Adams

The child may remain my child
He brought me Meryl Streep
...I ask for very little in life....

Here is the ABC News Crew

Pal Tony

As you can see he had the time of his life.

Until next time...
Thank you all for everything you are to us.
Hope to see you soon at Gabriel's
spring is peaking in
