Winter and Spring
2010
Wow, the response we had regarding the last blog was overwhelming.
I personally think our life is fabulous and these are the best times I have ever had ...
Thank you for that affirmation!

Valentines day at the Inn was wonderful.
The inn was filled and we had a lovely Valentines Day Brunch
complete with heart shaped pancakes and lots of treats!
complete with heart shaped pancakes and lots of treats!
The Wickham family ( My in-laws) blessed us yet again.
I think by now they can deduct us from their taxes
This time they sent us to the Turks and Caicos
They rented a beautiful house on the water the first week and the 2nd week we were in heaven at a beautiful resort... right on a snorkeling reef.
It was without a doubt the most incredible vacation I have ever been on.
Me, catching dinner!
My girl only eats raw so I found some really raw conch!

Yes, I followed Mr. Shark and I was that close!

Getting ready to go plunge in our back yard!

That dark line you see in the water behind us was the reef!

Me, looking for Nemo...

Note Ea's Lilly Pulizter theme that you will see as a constant in our life
More on that later...
Mermaid, Elizabeth Anne... free diving!!!!
Yes, I followed Mr. Shark and I was that close!
You couldn't pay me to do this!

Thousands of feet up.. I could hardly look and promptly told the fellow
that was high enough and REEL HER BACK IN NOW!!!

Breathtaking

Enjoy the video of our trip I made!
When I last left you all I had let you know Elizabeth A had called the local markets down in Turks and Caicos and inquired about her need for the "food in the raw". She accomplished her mission and was able to pick fruits and veggies from local growers as well as have selections put aside for her at the market. She is a dilly, I tell you! When she prepares food it is as if you are attending church!
And my friends, I am proud to announce as of today,
My wife, Elizabeth has lost 205 lbs, yes 205 lbs.
Pardon me...
This was just told to me through a mouth full of raw cashews, as I was clarifying this with her I have a correction, it's
205.4 pounds
ounces count

We just went to Boston to have more tests performed on her than you can imagine and every base line, blood level, C-Scans are perfection. I couldn't be more proud and she did it all on her own and the most healthy way possible!
The funniest thing is people are assuming she has had "the stomach operation" which horrifies her beyond belief but now she just says,
"Yes, I did have 'the operation', I used to be a man"
and she quietly walks away. :-)
My friends, my wife did not have any type of operation and she has documented just about every day in her raw, organic, juicing, walking, talking to her food, traveling all over the darn world to get the best of the best. She only eats, organic and 80% raw. No meats, no oils, no processed anything! Her nutritionist is one of Harvards top team leaders and her Orthro-molecular Immunologist Doc treats non other than the Prime Ministers around the world. I will have nothing but the best for that body. Our kitchen is a stainless steel tribute to dehydrators, food processors, choppers, dicers and juicers!
Let me top that.. She writes the numbers down on the little stickies they put on
fruit and looks up the farm they come from.
I kid you not.
Eliz with our Ortho-Molecular Immunologist
This man is truly an angel on earth
This visit takes over 8 hours. He tests for every food imaginable, your home water, your home cleaning products, your laundry detergent. You take everything that enters your life and it all is tested. The process is amazing and every vitamin is calculated to the ounce just for you, individually.
When we were sitting in the waiting room people were there from all over the world,
not the country... the world.
No wonder there is a waiting list of over 300 and 2 years to get to see him!
Every day she makes some incredible new meal that
makes me marvel at the endless menu that comes out of our kitchen
This is not spaghetti, this is zucchini!
One night when I was craving spaghetti and lobster I was promised something
just as good... but oh so healthy
And what do you know, we just happen to have the perfect kitchen gadget for this!
Raw zucchini, raw parsley, loaded with garlic and
the only cooked item on this plate is my lobster!
Elizy had the same but without Mr. Lobster
No cooky the foody for Elizy!!
Raw Lasagna
Cashew and pine nut cheese, fresh basil pesto, a sundried tomato sauce, zucchini, crook neck squash and fresh organic heirloom tomatoes.
To die for!!
Another day was "stir-fry", with cauliflower rice. The dressing, tahini, garlic, and fresh ginger.
topped with black sesame seeds and hemp seeds. Veggies included broccoli sprouts, carrots, sugar snap peas, mushrooms, yellow bell peppers, red bell peppers, and green onions.
Take a look at the SpinachPear movie we made!
Nut butters are E's staples every day. She actually eats constantly, no joke.
She has always loved peanut butter, perhaps a slight obsession with it as well as pizza, but we shall omit using the word pizza from our pizza free post. No mention of pizza!
Dear god no mention of Arthur Avenue either!!
Anyway... she loves her raw nut butters and they will solve any craving you ever have for sweets!
Tip: If you live as remotely as we do you will have to do some serious road trips to find all these goodies
Now, in a couple of days we are heading out West to all the National Parks and this might prove to be a challenge! Dude Ranches do not usually have a juicer and fresh veggies on hand..
We are in BEEF country now... to which I am thrilled!!!!
I'll keep you posted on how this trip goes! It will amuse me no less to see her verbiage to the cowboys on what organic greens they have available and why they shouldn't eat meat.
Grand Canyon here we come!!
Ea will finally get to see her childhood crush, Dale Evans, stomping ground.
Oh yes, she had this very pic inside her closet has a child
( Ea only had Dale, Katharine Hepburn, Mryna Loy, Mary Astor, Joan Bennett among other vintage women on her wall... amazing what even a 5 year old can know about herself and trust me Ea knew at 5!!) Ea was also born in the wrong time frame, she could whip anyone in 20, 30, 40's trivia pursuit (okay and Broadway too)... but give her any questions about her generation and she is lost! She will reply,
"I have no idea, that is not my generation" in a very snotty manner, no less! LOL
:::Update::: She has found that Sedona, Arizona has many organic markets. We are also planning a private champagne dinner that you can arrange at the bottom of the Grand Canyon... she has made the very selection of the food to be prepared down to "well, that sounds wonderful honey, but I will give the chef my greens when we arrive and he can use them"
I told you, she is a dilly and I love every minute of it!
Every second actually!!
Both my sister's became Grandmother's ( well, Boo for the 3rd time)
and we had a wonderful day introducing the little babies to each other
Enjoy another family movie of a magical gathering
Little Clemens, our Great Niece on Saint Patty's Day in East Hampton, NY
Mother took us all out to a wonderful restaurant for brunch
We laughed all afternoon... isn't that what life is all about?
I think we should have a section of our blog
What is Christie doing this month?
Elizabeth A's niece Christie must travel 3 times a month and is always keeping us entertained on a daily basis! California, Jamaica, running marathons, accepting awards, the following is just a peek at this month! Have I mentioned I just adore this girl?
Making friends in the Caribbean
And we had her last week for a visit!
She took no time to relax while she was here!
Ready to climb the monument!
That family produces gals with smiles!
Niece Mericka was little Cindy Lou Woo in Seussical!
With great nephew Thomas
Another birthday celebration!
Kira with the famous baby Clemens!
Mother with sister Addie at the Westhampton Saint Patrick's Day parade
The famous baby again, on the cover of the Newspaper!
Time to order Christopher's tuxedo for the Junior Prom!
The Boston Flower show was fabulous!
Easter with the Wickham and Dix family
We are lucky both of our families live in the same spot!
Hamptons 2010
And my sister Boo's birthday!
Tuning into the opening day of the Redsox vs the Yankees
Why? Because Christopher was there and he was right behind home plate!
And we could route for the Yankees without him knowing
How could I forget the monthly picture of the "farm"
We now have a England Castle theme complete with a
Dragon that lives in our loch.
This is serious stuff... god forbid any family member out does our farm!
My nephew and nieces in Paris and England are farming too, so we
are now internationally competing for our crops
Wow, I never thought I'd be posting such things! :-)
Yes, we still facebook every moment of our life
As of 2 minutes ago my sister in law Maureen, was planning a trip to Disney via a cruise with all of us ( don't ask), my older sister was deciding what to have for breakfast and my brother in law is still stuck in London due to the Volcano Ash looming over the skies!
Honestly, I never thought I would feel so happy to get up each morning.
I love every day with all I am.
My sister's all comment constantly how I have changed and you know what, I have!
Why, this Easter I did something I had never done, colored Easter eggs!!
I dance under the stars ( literally we do!), watch reruns of I Love Lucy, celebrate Christmas in July, take
magical walks in the woods, laugh..laugh...laugh, try and bake for Christopher's school bake sale, go to church, listen and smile as my 100% Republican wife rants and blows the roof off the house daily with her political out bursts. I never thought I would meet a more Republican family than mine, but I think I have met the match. I am swimming in the blue blood tea party LOL
I have spent every holiday with family, actually I have spent more time with my family
in the past 5 years than I ever have in my life.
I could go on but I dare not bore you all!
I could go on but I dare not bore you all!
This new chapter in the journal of life has fresh breezes turning my pages with more
unconditional love and daily delights than I ever thought possible
unconditional love and daily delights than I ever thought possible
Spring has appeared at the Guest House!
I was sharing the Lilly world above in this blog...
Wifey was born into a very Lilly family and loves her Lilly closet
Why, she even categorizes her Lilly and can name just about every print!
Retro Lillyfamily snap

Oh yes, we shop!

We are carrying on the tradition!

"Lillypalooza charity dinner" at the
Museum of Natural History
The Lilly textile designers at work
Elizabeth A is a textile freak! Did I ever mention she grew up in the Vogue studios?
Her Great Grandmother, Eleanor was the Editor and Chief of Vogue Magazine. Since the age of 3 1/2 she had her own white stool placed in the middle of the NYC Vogue office and would sit and be in the middle of the whirlwind fashion world for most of her young youth!
When she wasn't on her "stool" she was a child model for Vogue as well as Barbizon, Ladies Home Journal and Buttrick. For the 60's Eliz probably landed more covers than any other child!
Yes, imagine if you would being the type of little girl she was ( see above portraits she had in her room) and sitting on Coco Channel's lap watching the 1969 fall line-up.
I imagine she was nothing less than the Cheshire Cat!
I should do an entire blog devoted to this amazing woman! I do believe Elizabeth is going to write a book about her one day as we have a closet devoted to all her files, pictures and the history of Vogue!
Eleanor was also one of the prototypes for Meryl Streep's character in "The Devil Wears Prada" no joke!
As I mentioned we are heading to the wild west..
Apparently, we are now getting our cowgirl wear together
Why, Dale Evans just walked through the house!
Does this mean I have to wear this skirt while horseback riding?
Hats have yet to be purchased.
I am told this is something we will purchase in Arizona
For how would be pack them?
These are true dilemas we face in our home!!
Elizabeth just brought over the blender to show me, what to me, looks like carnival spin art,
is our breakfast!
Honeydew, watermelon, blueberries, cherries, and loads of spinach
Yeeehaw! Beef country here I come! :-)
Until next time when I will share my thoughts on my new iPad....
Which I am going to be picking up at the Apple store in LA next week!
Be well, my friends.
Thank you again, Elizabeth for being you every minute of my day!
Now go get your Dale Evans outfit on, it's time to explore the west!!
Giddy up, cowgirl!
