Provincetown Bed and Breakfast is a Peaceful Oasis

This morning I got a chance to relax on a sunny, leafy patio and enjoy a few minutes of peace all while in the heart of Provincetown. I know what you are thinking, Provincetown in July is certainly fun and is no doubt beautiful, but it’s not exactly peaceful.  Maneuvering your way through Commercial Street among the cars, bikers, trucks, beach-goers, skateboarders, roller bladers, tiny dogs, big dogs—you get the point—can be a daunting and sometimes dangerous task.


Well, plan to stay at Gabriel’s at the Ashbrooke Inn next time you’re in Provincetown and you’ll be able to experience a heavenly oasis amidst the high-energy of P-town. Today I had the opportunity to talk with the lovely ladies of Gabriel’s, Jean, Elizabeth G. and Elizabeth Anne, on the pleasant little patio behind the inn (which would be an excellent place to spend the afternoon soaking up the sun and reading a good novel). I also got to experience the graciousness of the Gabriel’s ladies first-hand: not only did they make sure that I had a hot cup of coffee but they offered me one of Jean’s absolutely delicious carrot and raisin bran muffins (yum!).

From the beginning of our business venture in Provincetown, Jean, Elizabeth G. and Elizabeth Anne have been incredibly helpful and supportive of True2o.  Gabriel’s already provided their guests with filtered, reverse osmosis water and the ladies of Gabriel’s were excited to help out with True2o’s plan to provide filtered water on the go. As Elizabeth B. explained to me, not only do they like to support “new, creative businesses,” but they also share our love of the environment and our concern over the huge amount of plastic trash generated each year.

As a volunteer for Wild Care, Cape Cod’s emergency wildlife clinic, Elizabeth B. has witnessed first-hand how plastic trash can injure native wild life—particularly birds that ingest plastic trash or get caught in plastic trash. Since disposable plastic bottles account for much of the plastic trash littering our planet, the ladies of Gabriel’s found True2o to be “a wonderful, green idea” and have given us their full support in our attempt to reduce the volume of plastic trash in P-town in this summer.
